Update on the Visitor Information Centre
With a full month to go, 2016 is already another record year for the VIC. We have already surpassed 2015 by close to 500 guests. We are looking at a year end total of 4500 +/- guests.
And, we are primed to blow that number out of the water for 2017. Why? It is expected that we will see another year of 'Staycations', Albertans vacationing close to home because of our slow provincial economy. Our low CDN dollar, Canada's 150th birthday, and free entry into Banff Nation Park will cause a spill over from the Mountain Parks into Sundre and Area from around the world. Also, should next summers weather be an improvement over this year, and the positive impact the 'Explore Sundre' campaign is having, it will be a big year for the VIC.
Our Educational Boardwalk is moving forward. We have started to map out the Trail itself and are getting ready to put a Committee together to really get this project moving. Details to come.
We have just finished repairs to the VIC roof. An entirely new 'torch-on' roof was installed. Big thanks to RLB (Ryan and Lisa), James and his Crew for the great job they did!
We can not thank our Staff and Volunteers enough for all that they do at the VIC. Their warm, welcoming smiles for every guest that walks through our doors, is so appreciated. You are all incredible Ambassadors for Sundre and Area, Thank You!
